An assistant professor in the School of Global Policy & Strategy at the University of California, San Diego since 2016, Teevrat Garg received his Ph.D. in Applied Economics at Cornell in 2015, after which he served in a post-doc at the London School of Economics.  His research examines public policy related to environment and energy issues within the broader context of development, with a particular research focus on India and low- to middle-income countries generally, with particular emphasis on social inequities and justice issues.  He is author or co-author of 13 journal articles in economics, development, and environment journals, often engaged in extensively collaborative and interdisciplinary work.  He has served as PI or co-PI on research grants from the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), the World Bank, and other funders totaling $1.5 million.
